Terms & Conditions of Service

Last Updated – 2nd December 2025

Please read my Terms & Conditions of Service which covers aspects regarding bookings, pricing, expectations, my polices, and lesson cancellations.

It will be assumed that a student taking lessons at Wakefield Music Tuition will have read, understood, and agree to them.

Please contact me if you have any queries.

1. Trial & Lessons

  • First 30-minute trial lesson is free — no obligation.
  • Lessons thereafter are booked individually or via arrangement; payment details and scheduling discussed at booking.

2. Booking and Payment

  • Bookings are to be made directly with me by email, phone or text message.
  • Please note that I do not use a third party service, website or  person to arrange bookings.
  • Payment can be made in cash, or by bank transfer on request of bank details.
  • Please note that I do not use a third party service, website or person to collect payments.
  • Students are expected to remember their booking time. Reminders are not sent as routine.
  • Lessons are held at my studio in Wakefield.

3. Student Commitments

  • Students are expected to practise and review material between lessons.
  • Suitable instrument and practice environment recommended for continuity and progress.
  • Consistent attendance and reasonable prior notice for cancellations expected. Repeated cancellations or no-shows may result in refusal of future bookings.

4. Instrument Policy

  • Student should ideally have their own instrument for home practise.
  • I may supply a temporary instrument for in-studio use if needed, or for trial lessons.
  • Minor maintenance or setup support is available; I am not a luthier and cannot offer full repair or sale services.
  • Saxophone mouthpieces will never be provided for hygiene reasons.

5. Support Between Lessons

  • I offer support by phone, email, or occasional video for clarifications or guidance, not as full lessons.
  • This is supplementary — core progress depends on students’ own practise.

6. Cancellations

  • Cancellations should be given with as much notice as possible.
  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will be required to be paid in full. I cannot make allowances for unexpected events that lead to a last minute cancellation
  • Repeated cancellations may forfeit future lesson eligibility.
  • “No shows” will not be tolerated.
  • Payment for cancellations must be received before a further booking can be made.
  • Please respect that although lessons may be hobby for yourself or your child, this is my livelihood.

7. Suitability

  • Lessons recommended for high school-age and above, or younger with prior experience and serious commitment.
  • Tutor reserves the right to decline or discontinue lessons if commitment or suitability is lacking.

8. Pricing

  • I reserve the right to change and update prices and offers at any time.
  • Existing students will be given advanced notice of price changes.

9. Changes to Terms of Service

  • I reserve the right to change the Terms & Conditions of Service without notice.
  • Existing students will be made aware of changes that may affect them.
  • Updates to the Terms & Conditions of Service will be displayed on this page.
