Some videos from last weeks Solo Show.

Last week I was honoured to be invited to play at friends Chadd and Ali’s vow renewal, 10 years after playing at their wedding. Here are some videos from the party!

Sabre Dance
(Dave Edmunds)

One Step Beyond

Cowboy Song / Boys Are Back In Town
(Thin Lizzy)

Old Time Rock And Roll
(Bob Seger)

All the backing tracks were produced by myself with me playing all the instruments (drums, bass, saxophone, keyboards, backing vocals)

With the show going well for its first outing, i’m looking at following up with more shows – pubs, clubs or parties. So, if you like what you see, give me a shout and let’s see what we can do!

A couple of drum cover videos

I’ve uploaded a couple of drum covers by yours truly to Youtube.

SIR DUKE – Stevie Wonder

HIGHWAY STAR – Deep Purple

These are the first drum covers i’ve recorded since upgrading my video recording equipment, so there were a couple of teething problems, mainly lighting and also I underestimated how wobbly the floor was in my studio!

More drum covers to follow

Wakefield Music Tuition videos now on Youtube
Wakefield Music Tuition videos now on Youtube

I will be expanding my tuition services to include video tutuorials on Youtube for electric guitar and drums! The videos will mainly be for exam pieces, with a playthrough and then some helpful tips for the piece. The first of many has just been uploaded, a popular choice for Grade 3 guitar, Old Bones Blues, from the 2012 to 2018 Rock School book.

I am open to suggestions for videos that may help with your tuition!

More videos from the Brewer’s Pride charity gig

I certainly was busy at the Brewer’s Pride charity gig this year. As well as filming the show and editing, I was performing with nearly every band! Here’s a couple more videos from the day

Some songs from Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon album, with the G&T’s

The G&T’s formed as a result of the jam night at the Brewer’s Pride, which unfortunately no longer runs.

Here’s one originally by Prince,

Brewers Pride charity event for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance

Last Sunday, 31st July, I took part at the Brewer’s Pride charity event in Ossett, held in support of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

I was very happy when the event organiser invited me to put a group together consisting of people who I teach. We called ourselves the Box Of Toys. This was the first time i’ve had the opportunity to do this in nearly a decade and a half of teaching, so to mark the occassion filmed the whole set, which I have included below. Many thanks to Tim, Colin and Jacob who took part, and all played a blinder!

I also performed drums with Padded Cell at the same event, which i’ve also included
