WMT Online

As of 2020, I am now offering lessons online with Skype. Learn in the comfort of your own home, and save a journey! Or continue your lessons while away on work or holiday, where you would otherwise have had to cancel!

And being online, i’m not limited to Wakefield and the surrounding areas. The joy of the internet means that if you are at the opposite side of the world, i’m here to help! Maybe you have had lessons with me before, but had to stop when you and your family moved away? Now we can re-connect!

The possibilities are limitless!

I am set up with multiple camera, which I can switch between to enable a better view, bring up slides, play music and guitar right to your screen. And no dodgy, compressed and distorted sound either; my setup involves good quality microphones and sound mixing equipment.

There are a few things to consider when opting for online. You will need a suitable computer or device, and a reasonable internet connection. Video takes up a lot of bandwidth, so a fibre connection would be best suited, and wired in by ethernet to your device would be even more stable. Of course, many devices work purely on wireless, so this may not be an option for you. But, for the best results, I also recommend freeing your connection up during your lesson whenever possible (ie. no Netflix or big file downloads at the same time). Who wants a glitchy lesson?

For all new enquiries into Online lessons with me at WMT, I will provide your first session free of charge. This will give us an opportunity to get to know each other, and if you have not had lessons online before, to evaluate the service to see if it will be suitable with your current device and internet setup.
